Founded in 1920, Camp Kawanhee organizes a range of activities. It offers opportunities to participate in canoeing, fishing, swimming, table and league games, camp trips and shows and athletic activities, such as basketball, tennis and softball. The camp also conducts campfires, songs and story competitions. Camp Kawanhee administers a counselor-in-training program for boys up to the age of 15 and offers leadership and communication skills. It features more than 16 lodge areas and a local area that includes a camp office, library and wood shop. The camp s neighbors provide nursing care services. Camp Kawanhee also features a dining hall and organizes visits to movies.
