My wife and I are real gringos...

My wife and I are real gringos from Missouri. We now live in South Texas full time and are really getting tired of the local food. The only place we have found to really serve "northern" food is Golden Corral. I would say the food is just OK. I usually have a salad and steak with fries. My biggest complaint is the way they cook their sirloins. I want garlic (which I bring along to add to my steak) and the steak cooked on a very hot broiler. Being a cook myself, I have tried to explain to the steak chef how to cook my meat. Being a native of Mexico, she had no idea what I wanted. I like my steaks cooked on a very hot broiler with flames licking the meat. The way they cook steak is to put it on a grill and sizzle til done. Not bad but not a really "great" steak. We eat there weekly, usually on Friday evenings. I so song for a really good "Pittsburgh" style steak. I know of two places that cooks steaks to my liking. One is my house and the other is "The Candle Light Steak House" located in Branson, Mo. So if you really want a "great" steak, come to my house or go to Branson!
