I used Bridgeway in 2014-15 to provide me with in-home caregivers. My caregivers were wonderful young ladies. On one Friday in August of 2015, around noon, 2 employees of Bridgeway came to my home, unannounced. They brought a letter/new contract which asked that I pay them an estimated advance for my caregivers wages. I was under financial stress at the time and I had kept them informed of my situation. I refused to sign that new contract because of my well-known circumstances. They noted my refusal on the letter and left. At 5:00 p.m. that same day, I received a phone call from one of those ladies. She informed me that I was terminated. I asked...when? She said...immediately. What kind of "caring" Care Management company would treat a handicapped senior who lived alone and had no family to help, in such a manner? What was a handicapped senior supposed to do at 5:00 p.m. on a Friday for help for at least the weekend I was now facing? Not only that, they broke their contract that was in effect with me which states that they were to give me a notification 24 hours in advance and in writing. Obviously, they did not do either. This is not the service described on their website. That image is a totally different one from the treatment I experienced, as described above.
