Mediation is an approach to conflict resolution in which the parties are given the opportunity and the help they need to get beyond impasse. Often, we put the responsibility of decisions affecting our lives in the hands of others - spouses, judges, etc. and by doing so, we can lose sight of where we have control over our own lives, especially when conflicts arise. We resolve disputes that would traditionally end up in litigation and do so privately, with dignity, allowing every person's voice, more timely and considerably less expensively than court.
