I had my car at another shop in West Columbia they told me that I needed a new transmission so a friend told me about Automotive Experts so I could price around. so when I called and got a price they were almost 500 cheaper. so I had them pick my car up to do the transmission repairs when they got my car in they found that I didn't really need a transmission. Automotive Experts saved me over 1000 dollars! Thank you so much, you now have a lifetime customer.

The people are great, honest company, they do good work and use good parts. I had to take my car back a second time to get some kinks ironed out and they changed 2 bulbs and gave me an oil change for free. So glad I found this Place. This is exactly how business should be conducted. If I need any work done on my car in the future, that's where I'm going.

They are the best in town. I take all my vehicles there and my family does as well. Never an issue with quality of work, they could not be any nicer. The best shop in town. I have been there countless times over the 5 years or so since I started going there.

I write this review with mixed emotions. Automotive Experts were recommended to me by a friend of a friend who was very pleased with the repairs that were done on her car. She saved money and said her car was as good as new after the repairs. However my experience with Automotive Experts was not as great. I brought my 2003 Mercury Mountaineer for repairs in March, after going to the Ford dealership for a diagnostic. Ford wanted $3000 to fix all of the issues they said were wrong, and I am the type of person who will always get a second opinion, so I asked around and that's how I found out about Automotive Experts. I took my diagnosis from Ford which listed all of the things they said were wrong; I gave it to Wayne and he said he would have his mechanic check to see if I really needed all of the things Ford said I had to have. I was going to save $700 by letting Automotive Experts do the work, plus one thing Ford said I needed, Automotive Experts didn't have to replace. As you can imagine, I am very pleased with them before they even touch my SUV. I needed a new differential, bearings, tires, etc. I brought my vehicle to them on March 3rd, and they had it for about a week. When I got it back, it still had the same issues, but now it was shutting off on me when I would stop at a light which it wasn't doing before. They were nice and kind to me and told me to bring the vehicle back in. I don't remember all the dates, but I brought it back and they told me there was a hose that needed to be replaced. Once replaced, the SUV was still doing the same thing. Once again, I brought it back and they told me it needed a throttle body which they replaced and the vehicle was still doing the same thing. By now I am losing faith and want to take my vehicle back to Ford to see if they could get it right. I asked Wayne if he would be willing to reimburse me for whatever Ford charged me, if they had to fix something that was supposed to already have been fixed. He didn't say no, but he didn't exactly say yes either. He said to take it back to Ford and let him know either way it goes and he would see what could be done. By now three months have past and I am feeling very discouraged and tired of the back and forth. Needless to say, the day I took the car to Ford, they were very busy and couldn't see me that day and I didn't have an appointment. On Saturday, May 18 I ended up just trading in the SUV for another vehicle. My only regret is that I spent $2300 for nothing because it still wasn't fixed. I could've just traded it in and still had my $2300. For kindness and professionalism I would give Automotive Experts an A, but for service I feel they failed me and I can't in good conscious recommend them to anyone else...sorry!!!

I have used Automotive Experts...

I have used Automotive Experts for several of my vehicles and I've never had a problem that wasn't resolved in a timely matter. Whenever I take my vehicles in for repairs, I explain my issues and after the vehicle is checked out I'm contacted regarding the plan and price for repairs. Nicole and Wayne have always informed us of any recommendations for repairs when needed. Repairs are never conducted without approval. If I have a problem that might have occurred after a previous repair, i call the shop, take the vehicle in to be check, and if the problem is related to the previous repair the issue is fixed. I've never had any issues with Nicole or Wayne when I question a previous repair. My husband and I both have vehicle Maintenance experience and have no problem checking behind (any) shop to make sure the work we paid for was actually performed. So far we haven't had any instances that have led us to believe we were being ripped off. This is why I continue to drive across town to have my repairs done by Automotive Experts. I am an actual customer who knows what it feels like to be ripped off by a Mechanic shop therefore when I find a good shop, such as Automotive Experts, I share my experience.

I too have had an awful experience with these people. I had to take my car back to them FOUR TIMES and still left with a car that was not the same going in and it was going out. First it was towed to these people to have the timing belt replaced. Then it was towed back to them because they said my radiator needing replacing. Then I had to drive it back to them to change the oil..which by the way they had on paper that they had already done it and when asked Wayne told me it was done...which it wasn't!! PRETTY SCARY! Then had to take it back because now my engine light was on. Found out later on (by an actual competent mechanic) that they had broken my vacuum valve, tried to glue it and tape it back on!!!!! Taking them to court soon. Anyone with a bad experience please get in touch with me and get an opportunity to tell of your experience. Nicole do not bother responding to my review with some crap because I've already spoke with you thinking you wanted to resolve the issue and you denied everything pretty much and was very rude. Don't try to play nice now!!! I'm going to try and get my money back for this part and for some of the gas I had to spend when it would cost me $20 worth of gas, instead of $5 worth of gas just to run an errand because this company had screwed up the emission on my car so badly!!! Companies like this need to be held accountable!!! Also, people please google this company as I'm not the only bad review on them. That has to tell you something. Couldn't give them a O stars on the review so I gave them 1 star.

Don't get a car from these people or get your car fixed. They have no idea what they are doing. They also have uncertified mechanics working their shop. I went to buy a car from them and only had it 3 days before I started having trouble. They would fix it (supposedly) then give it back to me and a day later it's back in the shop for the same reason. The man that owns the shop is nice but his wife is not. They are buying cars at auction with clean car fax reports and sticking them on their lot for sale without even checking out the basics first. So, don't trust the carfax and make sure you get a warrenty if you have to get a car from them because now I have car that's been in the shop more than I have owned it and I'm stuck paying for the piece of junk that I was promised was a dependable car before I even signed the paperwork. Thanks Wayne and Becky for a piece of junk you can't fix!!!!

In reply to "Mad&Tired," I am truly sorry you felt like you did not get the best service you could at Automotive Experts. We do buy cars with clean carfax reports from auctions, and we do fully inspect them. Occasionally, there are issues after the point of sale. That is why we have a standard 90 day warranty. We also offer extended warranties. We do our best in trying to educate new vehicle owners of all the possibilities that can go wrong with a vehicle and how to prevent them. Our philosophy is, if your vehicle is not running, you are not going to want to pay for it, so even out of warranty, we will work out repairs to the vehicle. With that said, we do our best to go far above and beyond what most other used car lots would do. I would urge you to bring your complaints directly to us, so that we may have the opportunity to resolve any issues you have. If we dont know who you are, we can't help. I would like to do what ever I can to make this right and leave you feeling good about our service.
