Public Works Facility is located in and operated by the city of West Des Moines in Iowa. The department provides services through two internal divisions, operations and engineering. The operations division offers street and sewer maintenance, street cleaning, drainage facilities, city building and equipment maintenance, snow removal, street and sewer repair, dust control and mosquito spraying services. The engineering division addresses the design and construction of new roads and sewers, reviews subdivision plats, undertakes traffic-related and engineering projects, and oversees the construction and contract administration for all public improvements in the city. The city s additional departments include city manager, administrative services, community development, emergency medical services, fire, library, parks and recreation, police, and public and water works departments.
