Glacier Photo has served visitors to Glacier National Park in Northwest Montana since the Summer season of 1986.   Glacier Photo began as a one-hour film processing lab in West Glacier Village, Montana, the gateway to Glacier National Park.  The one-hour lab at Glacier Photo doubled the number of one-hour photo labs in Northwest Montana from one to two when company founders, Jim and Ellen Rowe first opened in the Summer of ’86.  Over the years hundreds of thousands of prints were developed while park visitors passed the hour enjoying lunch or a heaping ice cream cone at the West Glacier Restaurant or perhaps shopping in the West Glacier Mercantile or Gift Shop.

As owners Craig and Karen Hunnicutt open for the 26th season at Glacier Photo, film processing is practically obsolete and all the lab equipment has been long since removed.  However, the the friendly and knowledgable service that customers have come to expect continues in their fully stocked camera and accessory shop.  Digital processing has replaced the one-hour lab, memory cards have replaced film and cameras are more sophisticated that ever.  In fact, being the only WiFi hot spot in Glacier, you may simply need to connect and upload your photos to facebook, or have us dump your memory card to DVD.  All much quicker than the old fashioned one-hour processing…but now when will you have your ice cream cone?

New for the 2011 Summer Season are professionally guided Photography Workshops.  Amateurs, enthusiasts, and professional photographers alike can all benefit from a vast selection of photo workshops throughout Glacier National Park.  Workshops range from a few hours to a few days and provide unparralled instruction and individual attention as guest learn from guides who are both excellent teachers and outstanding photographers.
