I had contacted Mr. Standish about servicing my Ridgeway grandfather clock that I had just purchased (Used). Appt was on a Sunday morning in my home. Time came and went and had not heard from him. At 1:30 pm he called. He had not remembered the conversation until I gave him my address.
My 5 star rating for promptnes is because as soon as he realized the mistake, he apologized and asked if I would like to re-schedule the appt. I asked if now was good and he jumped in the car and drove to my home and serviced my clock.
His service and knowledge of all types of clocks was riveting. I also have antique cuckoo and many different mantle clocks. I sent 2 back with him to service.
At the end of the day, nobody is perfect and mistakes happen. It's how you respond once you realize your error that makes or breaks your reputation. Mr. Standish's professionalism is impeccable and will be the only call I make when my clocks need some love.

We stopped by James Standish clock repair over a year ago just to inquire on a family grandfather clock service, but when the clock actually stopped working we called him for a house call. He scheduled for our convienence on a Sunday morning. He made the repair and serviced the clock perfectly. He’s very knowledgeable and personable. We highly recommend him and will definitely use him anytime.

Honest, excellent service. I've taken several clocks to him. Very impressed with the quality of his work and the fairness of his pricing.

James P. Standish knows his stuff. He can fix any clock and from sight alone knows just what to do. He has an innate gift for clock repair. He's a bit tough to reach but if you leave a message he will ultimately get back to you. His hours are Th-Sat or Sunday but sometimes isn't there. Leave a message. I let a guy in Enfield attempt to fix 2 of my clocks and they came back worse then they went in. Neither got fixed. Actually more damaged. Jim had to fix this other guys nightmare. I mean really really awful. I won't go to anyone else after going to Jim now.
