Professional and Honest Staff !

Talcott Transmissions is one of the few repair shops I trust. I have had transmissions rebuilt there for 15 years and just recently, had my dad's Taurus repaired. The repair went flawlessly and, as usual, Ken was very patient and attentive. That means a lot to me, because my father is elderly and I need to trust the guys who work on his car. I trust Ken to tell me the truth and not 'pad' the bill or add extra work that needn't be done. He has always been the 'go- to' guy for transmissions and other work, and the ONLY guy I recommend in the auto repair business. I stopped by due to the fact that my care was not shifting and needed help so that I could get back home which is 80 miles away. Ken was great. He diagnosed the problem, provided a temporary solution and enabled me to drive the car home. If I ever move back to the area, I'll be sure to use Talcott Transmissions if I have a problem.

On July 16, 2008, traveling off the highway to New Britain Ave. W. Hartford, I felt the transmission on my \"98 Ford Contour slipping and experienced a major leak. A friend recommended I go directly to Talcott Transmissions, in business since 1963 in W. Hartford. I was 180 miles from home. The guys at Talcott Transmissions immediately helped me out. They put the car on a lift, and in a few minutes had noticed a crimped vent hose. After fixing the hose, they took the car for quite a spin, up and down the mountain, and around the block a couple of times. I was charged only for the diagnostics and the labor. Everyone I dealt with was helpful and honest. They got me on my way with minimal hassle, and were even waiting to hear from me when I got home. I very strongly recommend the staff at Talcott Transmissions.
