I have never had anything but a great experience with Lebanon Sew and Vac. A few years ago, I brought in my old Viking for a tension issue plus a cleaning and tune up. They cleaned it and tuned it up, but were not able to fix the tension. The machine was 30 years old and getting the right part was impossible. She refused to charge me for the cleaning and tune up. She put in the time and, in my opinion, should have charged me. Today I called to see if they repair Janine machines and they do so I will bring it in to them tomorrow.

I'm not really sure why anyone would give this business a bad review. I have been going to this business for many years and have never had a bad experience. Everyone is always friendly and whenever I have had any work done it is done well and timely. Occasionally I bring in my sewing machine if I can' t figure it out and they are very cordial and helpful.

This organization no longer actually REPAIRS sewing machines. While the people who work there are nice as can be, all they really do is try to sell you another sewing machine.

I brought my machine in to get a tune-up and get a timing issue repaired, and was told they could not fix it. Since a timing issue is the single most common problem a sewing machine can HAVE, I cannot encourage anyone to patronize this place to get a sewing machine fixed.

They also could not replace a broken serger knife. This place simply doesn't repair. Pity.

I have a Brother embroidery ma...

I have a Brother embroidery machine that I bought in February. I took it to MADISON Sewing and Vacuum in May to have it serviced for a problem and it was covered by the warranty. When the same symptoms arose again, I called Brother and they suggested I take it in for repair again. Madison Sewing and Vacuum did a wonderful job, however they took 3 weeks and I really wanted to get my machine back sooner. Brother gave a list of other covered repair shops and LEBANON Sewing and Vacuum was one. I called and they quoted me 1 week repair time. I confirmed with Brother that the machine was under warranty and what to give the store so that I would not have a charge for the work. After 2 WEEKS had gone by with no response on the status of my machine I called. They had not started on the machine yet. That was on a Friday. Monday, I received a call that the machine was READY for PICK UP. I was not told anything other than it was ready. When I arrived to pick it up (I have to drive 30 minutes to get to the store and I work full time, 9 months pregnant and have a 2 year old, THIS WAS NOT CONVENIENT) I was told I owed $98!!! This was the FIRST I had learned of a charge. I was under the impression it was under warranty and specifically stated that it was when I dropped off the machine. I was NEVER told there may be a charge. I was told that the problem was not covered by the warranty and they had cleaned and serviced the machine. However, I was never called to authorize the charges or told that there would be charges when I picked it up. It's like taking your car for an oil change and they change your air filter without asking and then charge you. I was told the owner was out of town and would be back in a couple days and would need to speak with her. One week later...I spoke to Jeanette and she was UNAPOLOGETIC - remember the customer is NEVER RIGHT - this was her attitude. In reponse to the fact her employee had not mentioned the possibility of a charge, she stated there was nothing she could do about that now. I told her I would pay her as much as I could when I could (we are in a recession, right?!) and I was told that I had to pay half now or they would get a lawyer and take me to court if it was not paid in a timely manner. This was a COMPLETELY UNEXPECTED charge. We are having a baby in a week and have other expenses that take precedence over having an embroidery machine fixed, had I known I would be charged. PLEASE BEWARE BEFORE TRUSTING THIS STORE. I am not malicious, just want others to know what they are getting into before being taken advantage of like I was. Also, you can check BBB website, they have a "D" rating for failure to respond to another customer complaint this year.
