Provided by Doctor.comOn August 22,2016 I was bitten by my own dog. I arrived at Riverview Hospital E.R. at @12:30 in the morning in severe panic and pain due to 33% loss of my upper lip. Dr. Volshteyn was called at @ 1:30AM after my initial triage. The E.R sent him pictures of what my face looked like while I was there. Dr. Volshteyn heroically jumped out of bed and headed to take care of me. He opened the curtain and immediately smiled and told me "you're going to be ok". Finding that hard to believe at the time, I felt a sense of calmness come over me. He explained everything that he was about to do before doing it. His calm, genuine, positive, reassuring demeanor not to mention his "artistry" gave me the strength to get through this horrific event. The before/after photos are too graphic to post. Although there's no going back in time, he restored my lip to the point(without that 33%) where I could feel whole again. There are no words to express how deeply grateful I am to Dr.Volshteyn for answering that phone call so early in the morning. I've been to his office for a follow up visit to remove the stitches. His office staff is amazingly professional and as genuine as he is. Being in Dr.Volshteyn and his staffs care is comparable to being graced by a divine entity. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for getting me through this ordeal with such tender hearts and hands. God Bless you always.

Provided by Doctor.comDr. Volshteyn treated me in the Riverview Emergency Room in August 2016. I had sustained a laceration to my head and forehead and was very nervous about the severity of the wound due to the amount of blood pouring down my face. I had absolutely no confidence in the PA on duty so suturing me was out of the question. She must have sensed my unease and suggested a plastic surgeon consult. Dr. Volshteyn put me at ease immediately and made sure that I was not in any pain during my procedure. He checked in with me constantly. His demeanor was calm and low-key and did not rush me -- just what I needed. He clearly outlined what I needed to do to care for my wound until the stitches came out and answered my questions thoroughly. Dealing with Dr. Volshsteyn made my first time to the ER, dare I say, a pleasant event. I followed up with him in his office two weeks later to have my stitches removed. Another positive experience and again, very clear about how to deal with the healing of my scar over the next year. He leads by example because his staff is just as friendly and the service I received at his practice was exemplary. If I ever needed a plastic surgery consult again, Dr. Volshteyn would be my first choice! I wish more doctors were as engaging and thorough as he is.
