I would not have my mother anywhere else. The facility is owned by a West Monroe family and they only have this one facility. This place is soooooo clean. I just love it!

I would not have my mother anywhere else. The staff is so caring and knowledgeable of Alzheimer's care. The home is so clean. Plenty of activities for her.

My siblings and I chose this facility for our mother. She does not have memory problems, and this is a home for Alzheimer's residents, however we were initially impressed with the facility and the owners. Sadly, we were extremely disappointed with almost all aspects of her care. We felt very misled, as many of the things that we were promised were either "forgotten," turned out to be "liabilities," or just phased out. My mother, due to not being able to move any of her limbs, was constantly barged in on by many residents. These poor elderly people were obviously not in the right state of mind, but she was. They would enter her private room and rummage through her things. This in itself was not a problem, but sometimes the intruders were angry and mean. One elderly gentleman entered, called her horrible names, and began to rip her blankets off of her. This occurred in the middle of the night and it was several minutes before she was assisted and the other resident was led back to his room. These things seemed to happen all too often. The meals were of awful quality and sometimes they would prepare too little food. Since my mother was usually fed last, sometimes she did not get anything to eat other than odds and ends. But the worst was that we kept hearing that she wasn't being checked in on at all, even if she called for help. We discussed with the facility that we'd like for her to be checked on often, and it was decided that they would keep a log book in her room and ask the CNA's to check in on her every 30 minutes or so. Even after just a week, it was clear by looking at the log book that this was not occurring. There were up to 6-7 hours gaps between one check and another. This meant that my mother often sat in a wet adult diaper. She also almost never got a shower or her teeth brushed. It was overall a miserable experience, and when she moved out the manager even commented to her that she would call the new nursing home where she was moving and "put a bug in his ear" that my mother was difficult. We just couldn't get her out of there fast enough. Please, if your relatives can't think for themselves, you may reconsider another home for them. We think that our mother didn't fit in well here because she was of sound mind and was able to complain. The other poor residents can't, or even if they could their family wouldn't believe them.
