Long Island Compost is a family-owned business that produces all of its products at its composting farm on Long Island. It offers an earth-friendly alternative to the disposal of yard debris by using a balanced carbon to nitrogen ratio to decompose into rich compost. Farmers, container growers and consumers who use Long Island Compost brand compost have seen their yields surpass previous harvests that did not employ the same nutritious compost. A full line of Long Island Compost s products are available through local retailers, including home and garden centers. Long Island Compost also has custom blends available upon request. Long Island Compost recycles more than 60,000 tons of leaves and grass clippings per year, as well as more than 100,000 cubic yards of land-clearing trees, shrubs and bushes. Long Island Compost maintains operations in Westbury, N.Y.
