Wayne-Westland Community Schools is comprised of various elementary middle and high schools offering education to students in grades kindergarten through 12. It is a facility for career and technical training. The district is staffed by more than 1,450 teachers, secretaries, paraprofessionals, custodians and administrators, and employees in the areas of maintenance, transportation and food services. It offers a wide range of programs that include Class Size Reduction Initiatives, Reading Recovery Teachers, Classroom Technology, Latchkey Programs and math diagnostic testing for students in grades one through six. It offers an adult and community education program, adult and youth enrichment classes, senior citizens programming and other community-related activities. Wayne-Westland Community Schools also offers adult and alternative education, senior citizens activities, and an early childhood and family development center. The district is located in Westland, Mich.
