Founded in 1963, La Quinta High School provides a variety of learning opportunities and extracurricular activities for students in grades 9 through 12. He school has an annual enrollment of more than 1,900 students. It offers classes in English, math, science, social studies, physical education, business technology, home economics, and visual and performing arts, as well as conducts the English Language Development program. La Quinta High School provides advanced placement courses in biology, chemistry, physics, calculus, French, Spanish, economics and statistics. The school provides opportunities for students to participate in a range of sports activities, such as football, tennis, softball, swimming, badminton volleyball, basketball, soccer, baseball, golf and cross-country. It also conducts after-school tutoring sessions. The school administers the Advancement Via Individual Determination programs. It maintains a parent-teacher-student-staff organization. La Quinta High School has art, film, key, craft and business clubs. The school is governed by the Garden Grove School District, which additionally manages various elementary, middle and high schools. The district operates through business, food services, fine arts, records, and evaluation and research departments.
