West Middle School offers programs for the intellectual, social and physical growth of students. It provides educational services to more than 1,000 students in grades six through eight. The school organizes students into interdisciplinary teaching teams that provide instruction in various academic subjects. It is located in Westminster, Md., and is operated by Carroll County Public Schools. Its curriculum includes English, mathematics, science, social studies, computer applications and arts. The school also offers elective studies in fine, performing and visual arts, instrumental and vocal music, and health and physical education. It has media center studio that provides a wide range of textbooks and reference books, and Internet accessibility to encyclopedia and course materials.
