Welcome, welcome! We're so glad you've joined us today. We invite you to relax and enjoy Papa Passero's tradition of authentic hospitality, superb service and great food. We're glad to share with you, too, the simple pleasures of Italian hospitality, where the definition of 'extended family' is always broad enough to welcome in one more. In this spirit, we welcome you to our restaurant-our home, as it were. And it literally was a home, believe it or not, this building was constructed in 1954 as a tri-level house. It has been added onto many times throughout the years. In this way our landmark building is itself an intrinsic part of the community, and mirrors the growth and development of Westmont. Dine in Style--and History Find a seat in our quiet dining area and you'll find yourself in a part of the original tri-level building, surrounded by a warm history of hospitality and fun. The movie posters you see on the walls are all originals. The movies they celebrate were the blockbusters of the early and mid-1940s. We invite you to reflect on the framed photographs, as well. Most of these are from the same era, with some dating from the early 1950s. If only the walls could talk! You see, they themselves have a story to tell. That's pecky cypress paneling that graces the walls in both dining areas. It first adorned the walls of the Midwest Country Club. When the club house and its furnishing were auctioned we purchased the paneling for use here. We like to imagine it carries on a sporting tradition now at Papa Passero's. A Growing Reputation Our building has grown right along with our reputation. First, the kitchen and pick-up area were added to the original tri-level house, then the Garden and Trophy Rooms. Next came yet another addition to the kitchen and the creation of our popular Sports Bar. The Sports Bar Although they don't look a day over 29, the two golden ladies you'll meet in the Sports Bar are nearly a century old. They harken from the glory days of the Marbro Theater that stood at the corner of Madison and Crawford in Chicago. We're proud of the large mural on the north wall. It was created expressly for Papa Passero's upon the opening of the Sports Bar. The brick used on all the walls here was salvaged from historic buildings in Chicago's Little Italy neighborhood. Now it is reincarnated here, and stands witness to still more celebrations of life and living. A Popular Place for Special Events The Green Room was added to provide additional banquet space. Next came the Game Room. It soon outgrew its space, occasioning an addition. Most recently, the Hideout was added to provide yet more banquet space. Genuine Hospitality Like a large Italian family, our restaurant continues to grow as we add more and more members to our clan. It's a pleasure to welcome you in. Be assured our hospitality is genuine. In fact, authenticity is one of the reasons for our continued success. Our smiles are real. Our food is authentic. These values are reflected in all we do. Even the sports memorabilia on display is genuine. These items have been lovingly gathered over many years of celebrity and avid collecting. With Warm Wishes... We are proud to share with you this space we call home. It's a precious place to us and we hope that it will carry a sense of meaning for you, too. Thanks for helping to make it special. The entire family and staff of Papa Passero's expresses appreciation to you for your patronage. We do wish you well and 'bueno appetite.'
