I called today to request a quote and Kelly answered the phone and explained to me that her husband passed away last year, 2021, and she gave me the number of someone else. I called Gary and although he doesn't cover Southeast KC area he did refer me to someone else closer to Pleasant Hill, MO. I honestly just called someone who said they serviced my town but it turns out they don't. However, I was pleased with the referrals to Gary then on to someone closer. Kelly, I am sorry your husband passed but it shows what kind of gentleman he was. Thank you for picking up the phone today.

JW and his crew were friendly, efficient, professional, and safes with a reasonable price. I highly recommend these guys.

JW Came out and gave me a great Bid. Told me they would be here the next week. Called me back on Monday of the next week and said they would be here Friday. They ended up getting there Thursday. Very professional, Cleaned up great. JW made sure I was happy with everything. I would highly recommend them to anyone. He also took out my sister-in law's tree in the back, had to take out and replace her fence, also great work. Busy guy because he does great work at reasonable prices. You will not go wrong calling JW. Will be having him do further work for us in the future.

From the start when I contacted JW Rothwell and Ace Tree Service INC he seemed completely too busy for our buisness but the company was recommended and they stated they did good work but were not have the best personal skills. My husband and I let the unprofessionalism go the 3-4 times JW Rothwell had to reschedule coming out to do our estimate.

When I called JW Rothwell back, Monday 9-6-13, he understandably did not remember me since it had been almost 2 months. He requested I email the quote which I did and he stated he would possibly be able to fit us in the following week since he had work scheduled in Liberty. When I said that would be great but asked if it could be a saturday or week evening since my husband works full time and is in grad school and I work full time and we have a toddler. JW Rothwell seemed put off and stated did we really need someone at home since he just wanted to fit us in. I stated we could possibly. I talked with my husband and we agreed one of us needed to be home, like we would want with any stranger contracting to do work on our property. I called JW back on Thursday to ensure he got my emailed estimate quote and stated we would like for one of us to be home at the time of the work, no call back. I called again Friday later afternoon and left another message reiterating we wanted one of us to be home, not anything personall, but we would with any contractor and if he could call back so we could work out a time that would work for us all. JW Rothwell called me back and did not remember who I was. I attempted to remind him and he seemed irritated like he didn't have time to talk, he stated he would have to call me back next week and would probably be able to do the work in 1-2 weeks (not remembering that he stated he was going to be in Liberty). Watching how I was annoyed and attempting not to relay that too much but assert myself I stated that was fine if that is what he needed, but that we have a very busy schedule too and needed more consistency and planning and again asked to set a date. JW refused over and over and stated I was rude and that he had not had a complaint in the 19 years he has been in business. He yelled I was being bitchy and rude and he would not make a set time and continued to interrupt me every time I tried to say something. I questioned how he owned a business with such a degrading attitude.

My husband called him back as soon as he got home and started to calmly but firmly stated what I told him went on and that it was never acceptable to curse at a client. Before, literally, my husband got two sentences JW Rothwell was yelling and going on to the point my husband could not understand what he was saying except for all the curse words.



We are absolutely blown away with this OWNER of Ace Tree Service. We would NEVER recommend anyone use this business. A customer should be able to relay their expectations, I never started yelling until he cussed at me and yelled first. Even if I was talking with a raised voice or yelled first there is no excuse for the irrate screaming and cursing he did to me and my husband.

I had 2 mature trees (50+ years) to be removed. Ace faxed me an estimate the same day I called. It was the best price out of 5 estimates that I received. The work that they did was fantastic. They did exactly what was on the estimate, felled the two trees, ground the stumps and carried off the trees. They left the area clean and tidy. I would not hesitate to use them again.
