Bill is the Managing Director and Principal of the Robertson Stephens Westport office. With over 15 years of experience in the financial services industry and a deep entrepreneurial background, Bill is committed to providing clients personalized service and thoughtful investment advice. He specializes in developing and managing of financial strategies for private business owners and their families. With a focus on long-term objectives and current needs, he, alongside Meghan, works with clients to create portfolios that balance their personal and business financial aspirations.
Prior to Robertson Stephens, Bill was Managing Director and Partner at The Thrush Group of Hightower Advisors. Previously, Bill served as a Senior Financial Advisor and Senior Vice President of Wealth Management at Merrill Lynch, where he focused on asset management, tax-minimization strategies and advisory services for private businesses. He started a business during the ‘Dot.Boom’ called Syllogy Group and that business merged into Behrman Capital’s $100 million start-up eBusiness consultancy Groundswell. Bill began his career in his family’s commercial lithography firm Thrush Press; after Thrush Press merged with Laurel Printing, he moved on to become a marketing services firm.
Bill earned his Bachelor of the Arts degree in Political Science from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School for Public Affairs and Citizenship. He currently lives in Westport, CT, with his wife, Kelley. Bill and Kelley have a son, Griffin, who is in the insurance industry, and a daughter Riley Wells, who is a pop singer. In his spare time, he enjoys playing paddle tennis and golf.
