always the best!

Just had Subapros rebuild my 2001 Forester due to engine damage caused by earlier gasket issues. I knew this was coming eventually. They were patient while I decided what to do. Now I've got one spiffy quick Forester that feels great, purrs like a quiet tiger ready to pounce! These folks are the best. I'm grateful to have them around!

ok service, not a great experience

I went here to get winter tires mounted on my winter wheels, have them balanced and then mounted on the car. When I asked how much they would do this for they told me $60. Sounded good to me. Turns out it was $67 for the labor and another $13 or so in taxes and recycle fee. So around $80 when all was said and done. Not a big deal, I was happy that they got it done pretty quickly as I was trying to beat the snow storm that was coming. A more accurate quote would have been appreciated though. The mechanic that was putting the wheels on my car asks for my lug nut key. I told him "there isn't one, those are oem lug nuts" (the wheels have very narrow holes for the lug nuts). They eventually figured it out. Again, no big deal. While I was waiting for them to finish putting my wheels on there was some small talk with one of the mechanics and he felt it was necessary to state his opinion of "how picky" STi owners are and he doesn't like working on STi's . Haha well... I am an STi owner but I didn't take offense. I just thought it was a little rude that he would say that to a customer that clearly owns an STi. The job was completed and I was on my way.A few months later, I having my brakes done (at a different shop) and come to find out one of the lug nuts is cross-threaded on the wheel stud. So they have to break the stud to get the lug nut off. Now the wheel stud and lug nut need to be replaced. Of course they say "you should have who ever did this pay for the replacement". Rather than going through the hassle of going back to SubaPros and asking if they would fix it for me, I just went ahead and paid to have the stud replaced on the spot and finish the brake job. I doubt I will ever return to SubaPros for any services on my car. A simple mount and balance job turned out to be more of a hassle than it was worth. I might have considered going to them again (especially since they are so close to my new house) but after finding out that they cross-threaded the wheel stud, I don't trust them to do any further maintenance on my car. I guess I'm just another "picky" STi owner that likes it when mechanics take care of your car and do the job right the first time.

Great Shop!

I went to SubraPros after getting a repair estimate for $1500 on my 2006 Tribeca at another shop. I didn't want to put too much into the car because I plan to sell it in a few months. I decided to get a 2nd opinion on some vibration in the front end. SubraPros took the time to drive the car with me, put the car up on a rack and point out the problem. It turns out the other shop had misdiagnosed the problem and would have charged me $1500 without fixing the issue. SubraPros correctly diagnosed the issue and gave me a quote that was less than half of the previous quote. The then fixed the problem exactly when they said they would and charged me at the bottom of their estimate range. What's more, it turns out the problem was the u-joints on the drive train which were nearly completely broken. If the problem had not be fixed, it could have caused a serious accident and a lot of damage to the car. SubraPros not only saved me money and diagnosed the problem correctly, they may also have prevented a serious accident. I have three Subarus and will be back whenever I need repairs.

Best Subaru Service in Denver

I've had Subarus for almost 20 years and have used 3 different dealers and 3 independent shops. Subapro is the best. The best prices, thorough and accurate diagnosis and backs up their work. We have 2 Subarus and will never go anywhere else. Great guys - ask for Don.

They replaced my leaking oil sensor back in July and this replacement started leaking badly yesterday. I took it back today and they replaced immediately while I waited without any charge. This was great service with out any hassel.

What??

After being told my Subaru needed major work from a dealership I almost gave up on my car. After calling Subapros I was relieved to find out that having the head-gaskets replaced could be in my budget! I could keep my car! Subapros has great prices and I was treated with courtesy and patience. I can't thank Subapros enough!

Amazing work from these guys!

I have a 2005 forester, and I have been bring the car to Don and his guys for the past 3 years now. I recently had the car in the shop for an oil change and they did there usual general check over and found my head-gaskets were leaking. They then advised me on what I should do. Needless to say these guys will always get my business as long as I am in Denver. They find problems and fix them accordingly. I have never been steered wrong by Don and The guys at the shop.I highly recommend them to any one that has a Subaru!

Trustworthy & Competent

I live in Summit County Colorado and have been taking my Subaru to SubaPros for over 5 years. They are always straightforward and also kind enough to explain in full what needs to be done and why. All I ask of a mechanic is they are competent, reliable and honest--these guys have proven time and again that they are.

No integrity!

Don has really let us down! We have watched Don's service deteriorate in the last two years and have spent a lot of money with this company repairing our oldest daughter's car since he opened his shop. In fact we purchased a car from him for our youngest daughter, referred several people to him including one friend that bought two cars from him. Our friend no longer uses Don either after he has gotten the run around. Don is notorious for breaking promises. Don promised to perform body work on our younger daughter's fender and when we picked it up after the purchase and he didn't do it and said he didn't have enough money in it.... He also insisted on us paying cash and the title was in someone else's name. He promised to transfer the VIN information off of the old door and transfer to the new, and didn't.... He promised to fix the leak in our oldest daughter's Subaru after it cost us $1,000 for repairs and new seals that would prevent the leaks..... My daughter didn't drive her car her Freshman year in college and when she came back and drove it for about a year, the leaks came back. Don said no problem, bring it in and he would take care of it. Well, he talked his way out of this one also... We asked him to make sure her car was safe to drive back to college and he said it only needed an oil change. Then days before our daughter was to head back to college Don said her car needed an axle boot, ball joint, AC compressor repair.... We the paid him about $925 for these repairs. He had to take the AC belt off to work on the compressor. My daughter broke the belt between Glenwood Springs and Grand Junction due to their negligence. He promised to look everything over so she could safely travel across the country. The other belt was also shot and was replaced when she arrived in California.Don has proven to have little to no integrity!! Think twice before using this business.

Provided $1000 of free service as promised

I bought a 2000 Sport for my Son with almost 250,000 miles on it that was being driven by one of their Mechanics. They said if I had any problems they would take care of it and after the first week it did need some work. Don fixed everything for free, no questions asked. The Dealer would have charged me $1000 for the repairs.

These people are crooks.....

I just wanted to help other people know that might get taken by this business, these people are crooks. I had an 2.5 L engine that needed to be rebuilt and I trusted subapro, to complete the task. Bad idea, what these crooks failed to realize is I work as a mechanic and have been a master mechanic for the passed 15 years. I just needed them to rebuild the engine, because I don't have access to a machine shop for the honing process required to put larger pistons, and the ability to grind the valve seats. When I brought the engine to them it had a brand new factory timing set installed and I told them that it was new. When i arrive to pick up the engine the bill was another $1000 then what I was told and after getting the engine back for install, I noticed that bolts where missing and the block I drop off was not the one I brought for rebuild the bottom end was not even rebuilt at all and they tried sell me a new timing belt. trust me this is not a reparable shop, bunch of crooks.

Dealership tried to sell me a radiator and a/c condensor I didn't need

I just wanted to give a shout out to SubaPros for the fix on my vehicle as I think they deserve it. I went to a dealership because my Subaru was overheating over mountain passes and the dealership tried to sell me a radiator and an a/c conderser to fix the problem. A $1300 fix from the dealership. Went to SubaPros and I gave them the opportunity to sell me a radiator and they didn't. It just needed to be cleaned out from debris. $200 and a satisfied customer later, I took my car for a drive in the mountains and runs like a champ. I don't usually write reviews but I feel like they deserved it.

Best Sale/Service I've Ever had with Cars

We purchased a 2000 Subaru Legacy in Dec. 2010 and loved it. After a few months a small problem with hesitation and then stalling problems got worse. Don and his amazing crew worked to diagnose the problem and ended up replacing the engine at no charge. I loved that they always return calls promptly and answered all my questions. They also did repair work on a major fender-bender for me and timed it so my car was in the shop less than a day. They never quit til I was completely satisfied. I would never go anywhere else to get a great deal and superior service!! Honest and great people.

Subapros Knows Subarus

The clutch of my 1997 Subaru Legacy was slipping after only 45,000 miles. I usually have it serviced at a Firestone by my office. They advised the only option was replacing the clutch. I called a number of transmission shops and a couple of other Subaru specialists. All said the same things. Subapros was the only one who said it might be repaired through a adjustment. I brought it in and sure enough after a $5 adjustment, the transmission worked fine. That was six months ago and I've had no problems. Subapros will be doing any major repairs my Subie needs.

Great

Two weeks ago I bought a used Subaru here, it was sole as-is. This morning I noticed that it had an oil leak, I called and spoke to Donald asked me to come right over. The problem turned out to be a rear main seal, they immediately pulled the engine and replaced the seal at no cost to me and they did it in just over two hours. These people are very honest and very competent, I feel that they should be supported.

Man of his word

I purchased a 2002 outback over a year ago from subapros and yesterday the timing belt and head gasket blew, got towed to subapros and don knew he said the timing belt and head gasket were replaced at around 80,000 miles. To make a long story short rocky stayed all night and replaced all the parts for free! don does not lie and if something goes wrong that he said was fixed he makes sure to get it right to keep the customers happy! I will recommend subapros to anyone looking for a quality used Subaru or if you need work on you current Subaru. Thanks for everything SUBAPROS!!!!!!!

very helpful and patient

Suba Pros sold me a 2000 Outback and throughout the whole process, Don and his team remained very helpful, friendly, and informed. The car has been really reliable so far and Don has been in touch ever since the purchase to answer any questions I've had.

Not very professional

I recently scheduled an app and dropped my subaru off at 8am. Was told someone would call me with a diagnosis. 2pm rolled around, no call. I called them to get the status and was told they hadn't gotten my car in yet. About an hour later they called me and said they won't have time for my car today. I am left wondering what the purpose of my appointment was. Needless to say, I took time off work, ended up taking the bus around town for no reason and they didn't even offer any sort of apology. There are better places to take you car than here.

A real review: I recommend this place.

I brought my wife's 2000 outback sedan in for service. It needed more work than I wanted to pay for, but Donald cut me a deal and finished the work when he said he would. I had to bring it back because it was leaking oil. It had just been overfilled, and it was coming out the breather valve. Easy fix. I liked Don's personality, and I was able to get my wife's car fixed immediately because this is 'still' a secret, little shop.-Brock Maher

Lived up to his word

I bought a repaired 2002 Outback from Don on 4/30. He told me if there were any problems to come to him first. On 5/20 on the way home from work in nearly 80 degree weather, I could not get any AC. I called Don just before 6 PM and he said to bring it in the next AM between 8:15 and 8:30. Long story short, I was out of there before 9 AM with all the cold air I needed AND he put on the license plate for me!
