Provided by YP.comI have been a patron of the Wheaton, IL location since age 14 when I 1st was treated to dinner at Domo 77 prior to our Homecoming dance. Now, as I celebrate my 44th birthday I am so very happy to be celebrating with Domo 77 as I have every birthday, Anniversary, and special occasion ever since. I have most recently been going to their establishment on Ogden Ave. just west of Rt.59 in the Naperville/Aurora area as it's closest to our home but we do still go to both locations. I have known the owner since my original visit now 30 years ago. The owners wife Susie is very accommodating and pleasant and I enjoy seeing them every time. I highly recommend their entire menu as I've literally had every dish they serve, but have to say the lobster and shrimp dinner is my favorite. My husband and children love their hibachi steak. The atmosphere is casual, family friendly and cozy. I often take advantage of their carry-out service. Domo truly gives you your money's worth including soup, salad, fried rice, vegetables and a side of grilled shrimp with your entree. I have never had a negative experience with either location. We are often invited to other local Japanese grills in the area and always agree that nothing compares to Domo. There are some less expensive and some more trendy that attempt to compete but do not come close to Domo77's quality. I have used Groupons at both locations as well as others in my party on separate checks and they have always been accepted with no hesitation. I greatly look forward to my birthday dinner at Domo tonight!! Enjoy 😁

Provided by YP.comOn 6/16/2014 we went to Domo77 and were greeted (actually no greeting took place) with an INSANE, RUDE & LYING OWNER! The owner FOUGHT us over a VALID GroupOn discount that we just purchased days before. He repeatably said that this is "his restaurant" and proceeded to argue even yell at times in front of my family (of 4 kids) and other customers to "RETURN THE GROUPON" and to "BUY HIS COUPON" saying its a better deal. The arguing continued with the owner as if he was a car salesman even going to say "we serve high class people here" and stated we should go to Outback Stake House if it were still open which he claimed went out of business due to "too many coupons". I just cant believe that this is the owner arguing here showing ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE for VALID GroupOn. There was even another customer next to us that the owner argued about the same GroupOn. The restuant is RUN DOWN & HAS HORRIFIC CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!

Provided by YP.comDo not go to Domo77 unless you have no value for money or your dignity. My wife and I arrived and waited for several minutes to be seated (we were one of 3 couples in the restaurant). Several staff members walked by us without greeting us or even acknowledging our existence on this green earth. After we were finally seated, we waited about 10 minutes for anyone to even give us a menu let along take our drink order. When we saw the prices of the meals, we assumed a combo was for two people, how wrong we were!!! $35 per person!!! When the waitress finally did come to the table, we asked about the menu. In very broken english, she refused to answer any questions about the menu and demanded to know what we wanted to drink ($3.50 for no refills, really?!?!!?). We finally picked the cheapest meal, $28 each!!! In the defense of the chef, he did put on a good show and the food was ok, defiantly not $28 worth!!! In sort, unless you have a bottomless wallet and $80 is pennies for you and you can speak the native language (Japaneses, i assume), do not waste your time or money here!!!

When I came in, I waited for 5 minutes to be seated, even though I could see 4 employees around the corner laughing and talking to each other - they even made eye contact with me, but no one came over to seat me. I finally gave up and seated myself - I should have taken that as a warning to just go home. As soon as I was FINALLY served, I let the waitress know (an older asian woman) that I had a groupon - from then on, I was treated like dirt. First, The waitress refused to take the groupon, telling me it was not good for sushi - hibachi only. When I persisted that the groupon did NOT say it excluded sushi, she called the owner and proceeded to talk about me negatively in Japanese - she assumed that I don't speak the language and didn't know she was calling me " cheap ***** lady". and by *****, I mean racist slang that I won't repeat here on Yelp. Surprise - I know what you said, it's not only Asian people who speak Japanese! She finally took my order, and never came back until it was time to see if I left her a tip. The bartender ended up serving me my food, drinks and cleaning up. And, to boot, the sushi was sliced thinner than paper - for $3-5 per piece, it shouldn't be paper thin or as cheaply made as it was. I strongly recommend staying away from this place; I will not be returning!

This is the best restaurant that I have dined in. Bennihanna can not even compare..........Employees are always accommodating. Great prices, great serviceThey really practice what they preach!
