The Ohio County Sheriff's Office is a full-service, community-oriented law enforcement agency that protects, preserves and safeguards the civil rights of citizens. It offers a variety of support services, such as fingerprinting, concealed weapon permits, background checks, parking law enforcement, and sexual offenses and domestic violence prevention. The Ohio County Sheriff's Office supports an Evidence Recovery Team (ERT) that supports the sheriff s office with a tactical response to crime scenes, including suspicious deaths, murders, serious crimes with complex scenes and fatal vehicle crashes. The office also has a Special Response Team (SRT) that deals with dangerous situations, including high-risk warrant arrests and explosive devices, as well as heavily armed criminals and barricaded persons. The Ohio County Sheriff's Office is located in Wheeling, W.Va.
