5 weeks ago my cat was diagnosed with diabetes. As part of the treatment plan at Whitefield Animal Hospital, I was assured that in case of an emergency, all I had to do was call any time. At 2:00AM Friday morning, my cat started seizing. I called the number on the card I was given. I then had to call another number, left a frantic message, then had to call the pager number. I did this over and over for 30 minutes while my beloved cat's seizures worsened. I finally found Littleton Area Emergency vet services on West Main St-called them, immediately spoke to a human, who told me to bring my cat right in. By 4:30AM they were running tests, soon I found my cat had an inoperable tumor and had to be put down. So much for the 24 hour so called emergency services offered by Whitefield Animal Hospital. I will never do business with them again, even though they are right down the road from me. They failed to provide the essential services they promised. Don't take a chance with your pet's health. you never know when an emergency might occur and these people will not be available to you. By the way, they never did call me back in response to my emergency, what's that tell you?

I have always gone to Whitefield, even when their costs are more than others. Today we brought my 5month old puppy to get neutered. We were told no food or water past midnight. So when we dropped him off for his appt at 830, I figured by 300 they would be ready for me to come get him since they hadn't called, I called them. They told me he hasn't been neutered yet and he was next... Meaning he has been without food and water this entire time and has been caged (which we have never done) couldn't they have called and let us know when to bring him in? I am really disappointed and will not return.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate Dr.Plumley & his staff.Approx. a year ago It was my horses time to be laid to rest.I had rescued him over 25 yrs ago .He was going on 45. He was such wonderful loving companion. I had taken in abused & neglected animals my entire life. Whitefield animal hosp had previously been his vets until the business stopped doing lg animals. I called the equine vet I had been using & explained things were not good & I needed him to come as soon as possible. I was not going to allow him to suffer @ the end of his life. He told me he'd be there in the morning. It was 5pm @ the time.I was devasted & in a panic. I called the vet that is only 2-3 mi away from my home & pleated with them.Since he use to take care of him when he was with whitefield .They too refused. I called Dr.Plumley office. He was my only hope.He agreed to come. He was the only one who in my opinion has compassion for people & animals. He didn't have to because he wasn't his vet but he did. It broke my heart to let go after having him for so very long. But it broke my heart to think that in his last hrs he may have had to suffer. I am forever thankful to him.He hasn't forgotten why he went into the veterinarian field to begin with.He has continued to be a humble compassionate man when dealing with my animals. His staff is also thoughtful ,compassionate & helpful.

I grew up here as a child 1967-1980, and have since moved back from Tacoma, WA. What a BIG difference!! I just want to LEAVE this backwards place!! Such a thing as being a "quaint New England Town" - It's quite another to find an (almost) ghost town with only one Vet... I went in to their office today to talk to the Dr. and get a feel for their facilities. They asked for my records which I told them would be accessible online via Banfield Pet hospital (Petco) - "WE DONT HAVE THE INTERNET HERE" was the response I got! (?!) Unreal. Which professional office doesn't have internet in the 21st century? Oh, I forgot... we're still in 1970 here in ghost-Townville. NO WONDER you're failing as a town, Whitefield! They just knocked down their historic Town Hall as well... good move Whitefield! I now have had to drive 22 miles to Littleton to see if I can find a Vet. The lady actually said to me "WHY would we need to have internet?" (um... maybe to do research, consultation, billing, etc??) STUPID!!

If they would let me I'd rate the equine vet a NEGATIVE number. I only gave a 1star because I had to. I am not a current customer and will NEVER become one of theirs. To be fair, I stopped in this morning to inquire if the facility has an active equine veterinary on staff. I walked into the office to have two people behind the desk and not one of them greeting me with a hello, one not giving me the time of day and the second who finally acknowledged me with the rolling of her eyes and obvious annoyance of me standing there. I said hello and asked her if they had an equine vet, she said "yes if you bring your horse here"(to the office) . Really?? Not the information I was looking for but keeping that fact to myself I asked if there was a vet there to speak to "ummmm what do you need?" I started to tell her I was involved in a local equine group and we are in the process of lining up speakers to come to our monthly meetings if we had a vet come to go over health issues spring shots etc. Which I got "I'll go see" she went to the next room where she told him this and I hear "I know"" followed by burst of laughter from desk attendant. She comes right out and says "He has no interest" The End.. Unprofessional employees, unprofessional veterinary. I wouldn't bring a dead rat to him let alone my prized 1000-2000# horses. By the way, I have a ton of equine family and friends, I will be telling them to go somewhere different.

Whitefield Animal Hospital has...

Whitefield Animal Hospital has a most competent and compassionate staff. I have found them friendly and informative. Following my dog's two surgeries I had detailed instructions to help with his recovery. Thank you Dr. Plumley and staff for your kindness and obvious love for our pets!

FABULOUS!

My cat had an infected wound. They not only squeezed me into their very busy schedule, they were so polite and showed nothing but compassion for me and my cat! I was given options, prices, pros and cons of each choice. When I opted for surgery. The surgery was done the same day. Thanks to the wonderful care of every person, my cats wound is healing perfectly! I would add 5 more goldstars if i could!!!! ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS FACILITY!
