Always been a staple in the Automobile Service business for me and my family. Not just tires either...experience to fix all car issues so far in the past 10 years or so.

This business is a dishonest cheat, and poor customer service. I took my car here to get a simple flat tire fixed. They cross threaded and stripped 2 of my wheel studs putting the tire back on, and refused to fix it even when I returned with the opinion of 2 other independent mechanics that the damage was done by carelessly putting on lug.

American Tire located at 3699 Eberhart Rd, Whitehall, Pa is a dishonest shop who doesn't stand by their mistakes. I brought my car in for a flat repair and ended up waiting over two hours since they don't take appointments. It is what it is but what happened next has me infuriated. I don't write reviews but this warning needs to be posted. I specifically told them that the vehicle has a passengers side flat. They informed me that they didn't find anything in the left side but took the right tire off out of curiosity and found the flat. They then informed me that my wheel studs were stripped and that they would fix it for a fee. I said they can't possibly be stripped because they were hand threaded on. Upon inspection the threads were found to be stripped going on. It is impossible to strip threads in the wrong direction. They had no business or permission to even remove this tire. The owners attitude and demeanor is enough to tell everyone I know to go somewhere else. Pep Boys stripped the front studs during a tire rotation but had the integrity to replace them free of charge. Beware of this shop as their low prices could lead to costly repairs because of their negligence. Stay clear and go to a shop who will get the job done right and stand by their work.

I hate to write this but the time has come to move forward and find a new business to handle all my tire needs.

American Tire was a good place for me to take my car for tire servicing.

The issue I had run across was that I was informed that the damage to a out of the box new rim, in which they cared for, was caused by user error.

I'm sorry to say that businesses need to stop thinking customers are uneducated in the workings of work performed on their vehicle.

After being told ( more then 3 times) it was my actions that caused the damage to the aluminum rim, I kindly said thank you and left.
