Provided by YP.comExcellent groomers at the Dog'on Salon. Jaimie and Heather have been taking care of my dogs for over 3 years now. They both have great grooming skills and a big heart for dogs. I love the shop and so do my dogs. The shop is clean and the owner Shannon is awesome too. I think they have the best groomers on the south side of Indianapolis. Thanks to the staff.

Provided by YP.comThis is the nicest grooming salon I have ever walked in to. The salon was cheerful and nicely decorated not like most dog salons around here. I had my dog groomed for the first time this past weekend and they did the best job. The groomers were really friendly and spent time with me to insure that I received the haircut I wanted.
Josh took me on a tour of the boarding facility and I was impressed. Great Job!! Thanks.

Provided by YP.comUsed this business for the first time, won't be going back. While the front end staff was very nice and listened while I explained what I wanted for my Golden Retriever (shave the body as short as you can, leave the head, tail and legs-no blending needed) and also took the pictures I offered them showing the body lines I wanted cut- apparently the info didn't make it to the groomer. I was VERY clear in stating that I DID NOT want her feathers removed; even going so far as stating that it had happened once before and I had been livid. I agreed for them to trim them, and I specified with scissors. When I picked her up her feathers were completely gone! When I expressed my severe displeasure to the groomer she argued with me, snapped at me and refused to call out the girl from the back that I had given my instructions to that morning for verification. Her statement of "What do you want me to do, glue them back on?!" made me decide that her attitude, not her mistake would forever keep me from returning with my business. My response of "Well, you could apologize at least" was met with a snide attitude full "Well, I'm Sorry". She didn't charge me for the grooming, though I did offer multiple times to pay at least for the bath and body clip- which was done very very well. I will admit that she did a great job on my dog, but I'm heartbroken every time I look at her and see her beautiful feathers gone. The groomers foul attitude was the icing on the cake.
Back again- and it isn't any better. I took my dog back here another time. As I said in my original review, they do a fabulous job on what they do. I tried again, hoping for a better outcome. No dice. They messed up the clip again. May have been a communication problem, I don't know, but the groomer (a different one from last time) refused to apologize, refused to acknowledge that she misunderstood, refused to admit that there was anything done that I did not ask for. I paid for my clip and left, deciding that next time I would draw a picture of what I wanted clipped and what I didn't. Called and scheduled an appointment on Monday. Today I get a call saying that they have to cancel because they REFUSE TO SERVICE ME saying they could not make me happy and to go elsewhere. Gotta love being treated like crap twice, leaving in tears twice, still paying for the grooming even though you were unhappy twice, then getting a call saying they refuse to service you.

Provided by YP.comI love the Dogon Salon and Boarding! I take my dog Molly there for grooming and boarding on a regular basis since 2010. The staff loves Molly so much and she is always happy to be dropped off. It is nice to know that when I travel that my baby girl will be well cared for. They even offer a reduced price bath so she smells great when I pick her up. A big thanks to the entire staff.

Provided by YP.comDon't leave your dog with the Dog'on Salon. I left my dogs there for boarding - 10 days and I was almost totally dissatisfied with their service. I could only have been more unhappy if my dogs died.
Staff
I interacted with two staff that seem like fine people but they totally lack in customer service. The weekend we went to check out the facility I asked if my two small dogs could be kept together in the larger pin. I was told yes. When I returned the following week to drop off my dogs the larger pin was not available and they seemed the least concerned about it. They neither acknowledged my original request or apologized for not staying true to our arrangement.
Facility
The facility boasts a fenced in back yard and grassy play area. The fenced in back yard is more like a fenced in alley. It has no grass, but instead is covered in rocks and is totally exposed to the sun. Think about how hot rocks can get when they're in full sunlight. Now think about your dogs being left out there. No where did I see a grassy play area. The indoor play area was barely engaging.
My experience
In addition to the facts above you should know the following:
1. When I picked up my dogs from this kennel they had scrapes on their noses. When I asked the staff person what happened to my dogs he shrugged and said that they did it to each other. When I took my dog to the vet the day after bringing them home, the vet told me that the scrapes looked like my dogs trying to get out of their kennels, sticking their noses under the gate and then scraping them. This is common, but the fact that the staff person didn't tell me the truth or had no idea why my dog's nose was scraped is a huge signal to me that they weren't paying any attention to them.
2. My dogs came home smelling obscene. Their crates and their blankets were drenched in urine. My dogs are pad trained and this tells me that they didn't get let out of their kennels very often and the staff let me dogs pee in their beds. That is disgusting and unsanitary. I felt so bad for my pups.
3. Lastly, I labeled my dogs food, snacks and lunchtime treats. When we returned to pick them up after 10 days at the kennel one dog had way too much food left over and the other was 2 lbs heavier than he had been 10 days earlier. They also were never given their toothbrush snacks and those were labeled for them as well.
I have to say I am supremely disappointed in this experience. I hope that their owner Shannon Walters know the inadequacies of her dog salon.
Basically, if you want a living dog when you return from your trip Dog'on is fine. If you want your dog taken care of, go elsewhere.
