All military veterans and individuals with disabilities should consider boycotting the shelter cove campground and deli. I am a retired Air Force Veteran with over 22 years of service as well as another 20 years as a civilian with both the Air Force and Veterans Affairs. I have a well-trained and properly certified service dog. Sir Oliver is a 25 lbs. Papijack that is certified under title II and III of the Americans with Disabilities Act and has gone everywhere with me. This includes five star hotels and restaurants. I stayed in Shelter Cove from October 15th through the 18th. My wife, Sir Oliver I received outstanding service throughout most of Shelter Cove. We had an excellent dinner at the Cove Restaurant, Sir Oliver was welcomed, and spent over $140.00.

The only time that I have ever had a problem was when I went to a dump known as the shelter cove campground and deli. A very incompetent, abusive and rude individual named curtis harassed me for having a service dog. I attempted to provide him with all the proper identification and attempted to inform him of the Federal Law. I was illegally denied service and felt threatened, so I left. I notified a few of the locals who later stated that they notified the owners of the deli, but I never received an apology.

I am forwarding formal complaints with the ADA. If anyone else has had a problem with this establishment please file formal complaints with the ADA at www.aga.gov, or call 800-514-0301.
