Provided by YPmobileI had The Refinishing Shop restore several pieces of furniture for me. The showed up on time for the estimate and had a great display of fabrics to look at. The craftsman who came out to look at the furniture was very easy to work. He gave a honest assessment of my pieces and helped me pick a good fabric. The workmanship was excellent on all pieces. I would highly recommend them to anyone I know.

Provided by YP.comNever do business here!! We hired Ed to refinish our kitchen cabinets. He seemed like an honest guy and raived about his company's reputation. Was I a fool!
To do the work, we gave him one of our existing kitchen doors, a new panel we purchased so he could match the stain and over $1000 deposit. Well, the work never got done, our money and property was never returned and he didn't even appear for his own hearing in small claims court.
Does that sound like an honest and reputable business owner you want for your job? Proceed at your own risk!

Provided by YP.comThis is the worst company we have ever done business with. They took over 16 weeks to do work that was promised in 3-4. They ruined two irreplaceable pieces of rosewood furniture - breaking one piece and damaging (and ultimately repairing a second piece and also leaving us with finishes that showed drips and runs and marks of where other equipment or tools had sat on the surface while the finish was obviously not dry. IF you are foolish enough to do business with them, fully expect that all contact will be initiated by you and that return communication will be a surprise. They had a very cavalier attitude towards the damage they caused and the salesman had the audacity to say "it's only a table". When we ran out of options for dealing with this company we turned to the BBB for help. What a surprise that they have encountered the same type of attitude and response. After agreeing to provide a partial refund of our monies paid over a month ago, they have not and no longer answer or respond to the BBB follow up. This despite the fact that they are currently under evaluation by the BBB for relationship standing with the BBB.
Proceed at your own risk and potential loss - both financial and on your furniture if you do business with The Refinishing Shop. From our experience they are neither professionally capable of doing what they claim to be able to do or have the minimal business ethics to stand behind their claims and workmanship.
FYI - I am forced to give a 1 star rating - this company should not have any!!!
In our business we deal with many customers. 99% of them are reasonable people and we deliver quality product and great customer service. we do a considerable amount of repeat business due to our excellent workmanship and service. this customer presented a very difficult project requiring a certain amount of time to complete. customer constantly pushed and pushed for delivery regardless of being informed that you cannot rush quality work. the furniture was not damaged in any way. if the work was so bad why did he pay for the job on delivery and compliment the pieces. if they were ruined as he pretends why would he even pay? some people are unreasonable and difficult to work with. this customer is the problem and I feel sorry for anyone else he does business with.

Initially, we had a good impression via the owner. The business seemed long standing and professional. Unfortunately, the process took forever (something that should have been completed in a month took 5 months). We were squeezed in with other projects and rarely proactively followed up with. We had to continually call to get status. We also had to follow up on detail work/items missed. The owner took down notes, but they seemed to disappear. While the work ended up being solid, I'm giving them 2 stars for lack of organization, follow-through, timing and detail work. I can't comment on cost. It was expensive, but we assumed the work/job would make it worthwhile. Unfortunately the process took away from the final result. Next time, we'll get quotes from multiple places.
