Dr. Rains might be a good dentist, but my daughter-in-law didn't get past his hygienist, Darlene. When she took her 3-yr-old for his initial visit, Darlene whisked him up and into the room without her permission and over her objections and refused to let her go into the room. The office staff cheered her with, "Now watch her do her magic!" She left my grandson in the exam room and returned to tell my daughter that it was her fault that he was crying. That she had planted the idea in his mind. She told my daughter, "Don't you dare go in there!" Dr. Rains had to come tell Darlene to let my daughter enter the room with her child. She got her child and left. My daughter took her child to have his teeth examined, not for counseling on how to raise her child from a dental hygienist!
Darlene later called, I suppose to apologize, but continued to "educate" my daughter with her superior wisdom. When my daughter tried to explain her concerns, I heard Darlene barrage her with "NO! NO! NO! That's not true!" Then when my daughter asked for the conversation to end, Darlene wouldn't let it go. My daughter had to finally hang up on her.
If your child is not comfortable with strangers, make sure you get a different hygienist should you choose to take him/her to Dr. Rains.
