Doesn't do what he says, lies and doesn't care about anything other than getting as many kids in the door to make money. He teaches the kids honesty and integrity but he doesn't do or have either. Would not recommend

Our family really enjoyed and benefited from the services provided by the children's instructor at Empower. Our son enjoyed it and it was a great experience for him along with learning values and discipline.

Awesome!

Empower Martial Arts is the most professional martial arts studio that we have visited. The instructors are courteous and well trained and know how to teach kids on their level. The classes are large, but the instructors are able to maintain control of he class and still give personal attention to every student. My son loves going here and we are so glad to have found this studio! His confidence and self-esteem have jumped by leaps and bounds!

Disappointed

We purchased a Groupon that included 16 classes, uniform, testing, and graduation belt at Empower Martial Arts because we have an 8 year old who is excited to learn a martial art. On our 1st visit they tried to get us to sign up for a leadership membership priced at $150 per month. We told them we needed to think about it. The 1st class my son attended consisted of 30 students to 1 instructor. I actually felt bad for the people who we're paying over $100 for this class. We decided to attend class on a different night and we're pleased that there was only around 20 students on that night. My son was very enthusiastic in the beginning but quickly grew board because he was spending a lot of time waiting because of the large class size and different belt levels in the class. After 3 weeks of classes we were approached again about purchasing a membership. This time I told them we couldn't afford it at that time so we just wanted to stick with what was included in the Groupon for now. By this time the instructors had started telling the kids about a BBQ and water balloon party that was coming up soon. They were hyping it up at the end of every class never mentioning that it was for members only. After class my son who was extremely exited about this party, asked the instructor a question about it. The instructor, a so-called black belt, quietly told my 8 year old little boy that the party was only for members and he wasn't a member. My son was crushed he made it to the car before he started crying. This same day I had inquired about registering for the belt testing which according to the Groupon was included. I was told I needed to purchase a membership in order for my son to participate in belt testing. I politely argued that I thought it was included with the Groupon but I was informed that only the white belt was included. There was no testing involved when my son received his white belt, he simply had to be heard responding yes sir to the instructor. So now I had to tell my already broken hearted child that he wasn't going to get his next belt. He was devastated. These people play on the emotions of children to try to get money from their parents and unfortunately it seems to be working for them. I'm thankful that I'm only out $30 the cost of the Groupon but I'm angry that I allowed these people to hurt my little boy. I'm also concerned for the dozens of other children whose parents had purchased the Groupon.
