One could probably find a more competent contractor to work with. A salesman from Extreme Roofing came to my door (among many others) after a particularly bad hail storm. He inspected my roof and looked at some other damage, informing me that he would be an advocate for me when the insurance adjuster came out. I signed a contract with him, and called a few days later when I knew what time the adjuster would be there. Long story short – he was late to the appointment and the adjuster was leaving as he pulled up. As a result, my insurance company told me that I didn't need a new roof. The salesman told me to ask for a second inspection, which I did. It took well over a month to happen, but on the second inspection, the salesman was there and it was determined that I did need a new roof, among other things. When the work was done, it was very efficient. The gentlemen that they used to roof my house, paint my window sills, replace my screens, and build a section of fence were very skilled and professional. However, one of the screens has since fallen out, and there are a couple of items that they never completed (restaining a playset and fixing a broken window) even after I informed them that they weren't done. But they already had my insurance check, so why put forth any effort, right? At this point I was tired of dealing with them, so I decided to just let the unfinished work go. But then, and this is the best part, they sent me a threatening letter indicating that they were going to put a lien on my house because of an alleged insurance payment they never received. I called them on a Tuesday AND a Wednesday, leaving a message that was never returned. The following week, I finally got a hold of someone who told me they’d “look into it”. The next day, I was cc’d on an email between Extreme Roofing and my insurer indicating that I in fact never did receive a check and that I had done nothing wrong. A simple “Oops” or an apology, I would think, should be in order, but I've received nothing. So, to recap: If you’re cool with missed appointments with adjusters, incomplete work that you've already paid for, incompetent record keeping, and rampant unprofessionalism, I would highly recommend Extreme Roofing.
