Provided by YP.comSeptember 2022, I bought a 2018 Kia Optima with 52k miles for $20,000 (the highest market value of an issue/worry-free 18 KIA Optima w/52k miles) and in the first two weeks the engine was making a noise. I decided to check the oil which was barely visible on the dipstick. I checked the oil again and it was low enough to where no oil was visible on the dipstick. I called Scholfield Honda and told them about the issue and they said to bring it in. I took the car in and the service writer wanted to charge $166 to confirm what I was telling them. I had to get a manager involved to waive the $166. They kept my car for the day to confirm it was burning oil. I asked what to do with the vehicle and they said, "take it to Kia". I took the car to a Kia dealership where I was instructed to drive the car 1k miles for an oil consumption test. Scholfield provides an unlimited mile powertrain warranty but did not offer to work on my car or conduct an oil consumption test. Scholfield sent me on my way and I had to deal with a Kia dealership and hope the warranty would be approved through Kia USA. My new car sat for 37 days at Kia while getting a new engine. While my vehicle was getting a new engine, I asked the used car sales manager where this car came from and he said "it was bought at auction". I called and talked with the general manager and expressed my feelings toward auction vehicles and he said, "where do you think most of our used vehicles come from?" I said "I was never told this car was from an auction" and that "had I known this was an auctioned vehicle I would never have bought it, there was no transparency here". I asked for a different car, for a cash value return of my car (they said my car was worth $13,000, at auction, and could probably do $16,500) I asked for the $1500 rental car fee. Scholfield rented and charged me for a rental car.
