United Way of Wyoming Valley is a fundraising organization that raises funds for member agencies that provide health and human care services to those in need. It supports over 20 programs in more than 10 agencies that prevent and intervene in individual and family issues, including drug and alcohol addiction and sexual assault. The organization also supports individuals in need of counseling services and provides scholarships to children for child care services, before- and after-school and early intervention programs and preschool. United Way of Wyoming Valley provides emergency medical care, emergency assistance, and information and referral services. It provides disaster relief services to those afflicted with fires and other hardships. In addition the organization offers shelter to the victims of domestic violence. United Way of Wyoming Valley is located in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
