Established in 1954, James Blair Middle School is operated by Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools. Its amenities include a cafeteria, computer lab, auditorium, playground, and art and music room. The school provides academic instruction in English, math, reading, science and social studies. It has a guidance and counseling department that provides basic assistance to students regarding scholarships, career planning, and social and mental problems. The school maintains a library media center, which conducts an accelerated reader program that is used to monitor and guide reading practice and help students in improving reading abilities. James Blair Middle School serves more than 750 students in grades six through eight.
