Provided by YP.comTerrible service and they don't care one bit about their customers. They can't even be courteous enough to provide a bill so you know when or what to pay, they will just not send one and then try to drop you for non-payment or stick it to you in fees on the next one they don't send a bill for. I've dealt with some awful companies and this is one of the worst.

Provided by YP.comI have been extremely disappointed with the service Erie and Niagara Insurance has provided after the loss of my home and everything I own.
First, they pressured me to move out of the hotel room they were paying for out of my money, although I had used only a small percentage of this portion of my insurance, I had paid premiums for this exact purpose.
Second, they only paid 75% of the actual amount of the face value of the policy. The estimated inventory was valued well over the face amount of the policy.
Third, in my case, they withheld $27K or roughly 25% of the claim. They call this “hold back” money. They are supposed to give me back my money after I purchase new items for my new home. They do not.
Fourth, in my case, they then hire Todd Mahoney, an independent adjuster, who does not process my claims for weeks and months. It is difficult to continue to furnishing my new home, when I am waiting to be paid for the claims submitted.
What your insurance company does not tell you is that they want your money and when you have a legitimate claim against the policy, they will do everything in their power to avoid paying you.
Their entire premise seems to be to stall and block my payments until the statute of limitations runs out and I am out of luck.

Provided by YP.comMy mother was referred to Erie and Niagra by her Nationwide agent when she decided to seasonally rent her vacation home in the Adirondacks. She sustained a loss that just about every homeowners policy would cover--except for Erie and Niagra. When she purchased the policy, she was told that it was identical coverage to what she had. Funny, she had no way of really knowing because they never sent her the complete policy--only declaration pages.
When her claimed was denied, I called the agent and requested a copy of the policy. The reluctantly furnished it. Imagine my surprise to discover that her $2500 per year policy only would pay if the house burned to the ground.
We now have proper insurance to the tune of $650/year with a REPUTABLE insurance carrier.

Provided by YP.comAvoid at all costs! They cancelled on us after an inspection due to some maintenance issues. Was told even if we fixed the maintenence issues whithin the 2 month before cancellation took place, they still would not renew us. They said its costly to do an inspection and the house is not worth it for them to renew.
