Our regular vet wouldn't treat our cat for the problem we knew he was having when we took him in five days into the issue (where they gave him very expensive diagnostic blood work but not treatment for the issue) or at the eleven day mark unless we paid for xrays (that were not needed to diagnose the issue. They were going to let our otherwise healthy but severely constipated cat die when what he needed was a simple and not expensive enema.

The tech and Dr at BEVS listened, actually examined him (unlike the regular Vet who had already charged us $300 and done nothing), were able to diagnose him based on what we told them and feeling his abdomen and treated him. They did this in the middle of the night and for significantly less than the initial VET visit's cost and well under what we were told the xrays would cost.

They saved our cats life and he was back to normal in 3 hours.

AWFUL

Stay away from this place at all costs. They are rude, pushy, and completely non-empathetic. We had to put our 12.5 year old dog to sleep and after it was done, the PUSHY vet tech came into the room every 2 minutes asking us if we were "done". She completely ruined what should have been a last few peaceful moments with our beloved dog. In addition, we had our dog cremated and they never bothered calling us to tell us she was ready to be picked up. We got worried and called, and they claimed they had been trying to reach us, which was a blatant lie. This is the worst establishment. I tried to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau but could not find the company on their page

After reading reviews, I decided to take my local vets referral and take my dog shadow. Upon arrival, the staff (everyone) were helpful, nice. I reside 3 hours away and I felt as though we were at "home". The visit with the nurse, then Dr. Schultz, the woman who drew his blood and took his x rays, treated us wonderful. My shadow was happy and willing to do what they wanted. The doctor not only got down on the floor to fully (45 min) examine my dog, he then walked with him outside to study his walk. I was given his DM diagnosis and he explained everything to me, along with giving me several take home sheets of this terrible disease. I was not pushed into any tests, actually I requested the somewhat expensive lab work. They were not rude in any way. If you can't afford your pet and their medical care, don't get a pet. From beginning to end, they went above and beyond for me and shadow. They answered all my questions and returned my calls promptly. I highly recommend them. PS

Burlington Emergency Vet Clini...

Burlington Emergency Vet Clinic is appalling in my view. Read the other reviews. They euthanized a 2 year old cat because of money. My daughter had taken the cat the night before and received a quote of $600 (after the $100 exam fee for walking in the door) and if the animal stayed overnight it would be $1000. My daughter left the clinic in tears and when they called her she explained euthanization would be her only alternative (that costs $100 as well).

The next day a vet named Betsy called my daughter and told her to hurry and come get her cat as she couldn't bear to euthanize so she had saved the cat. The cat was having convulsions orginally because of coming in contact with a flea med that was for dogs. My daughter was informed that "valium" would control the siezures until the flea meds got out of the cats system. So the cat went home, ate food, was a little wobbly but was doing well.

At 9 pm that same night the cat started having shaking problems again. My daughter called the clinic, spoke to Dr. Tom H and was quoted a price of $45 for a revisit, $20 for meds and possibly another $20 for an IV. He also stated that the cat should have been sent home with meds.

So I called a taxi for my daughter and the cat and while they were enroute I called the clinic to pay them with my debit card $100.

Everything changed at that point-the vet tech was extremely rude and stated that she needed $185 before even seeing the cat because it had not been paid the night before. I attempted to explain that we were told it was done for free. I then called my daughter who was already there and waiting to see the vet.

I called back the rude vet tech and told her I didn't understand and reiterated the quote. She said that $100 would only pay for euthanization and "did I call to give her a card or what"-YES SHE ACTUALLY SAID THAT.

So I gave her my card number hoping they would just stabilize the cat with anti seizure meds, and send my daughter home with the cat so she could see her own vet in the morning. I also told the vet tech she should BE ASHAMED OF HERSELF-like she cared.

They killed the cat for my $100.......

So they now say that I am being abusive by posting the truth. All the education these vets and their staff have and no common sense....stay away from this place ,,,very far away

This is the worst clinic to take your animal to in this area. My experience is that they charge 3 times the normal rate and quote $100 to walk in, $300 to $1000 for treatment and they don't even have the integrity to stabilize your animal and send your to your own vet. Rude vet techs and NUMEROUS bad reviews. Please do not go here, save yourself the heartache and the outrageous fees!!

Make sure you have alot of money...

Be careful about this place. If you do not have sufficient funds to pay for a surgery that is needed immediately then you are in big trouble. We took our dog in who had a bloat and he would die if we didn't get him operated on. We went in there and at the point we brought him in there he extremely bloated and shivering and before they would bring him into surgery they checked our funds and we didn't have the $4000 to cover the surgery and we asked if we could pay it over time...they said no. We had to watch our dog die in that hospital and they wouldn't even let us have him euthenized. He died and they didn't care and did nothing to help us...i would not recommend this place.
