Purchased for $75 in 1926, Midwest Promotional Group has a distinct and storied past. The company initially went by Midwest Calendar Company, a name that referenced the staple of promotional advertising in the late 1920s. Midwest originally provided advertising counseling to all of the Chicagoland area and Northwest Indiana. The promotional advertising industry began to diversify by introducing new product lines. With the introduction of these new items, it was a goal of Midwest to become a full-service promotional company. After 62 years in the city, Midwest expanded its operations. Its new location would allow for in-house production of the fastest growing segment in the industry corporate apparel. Thus, an apparel division of Midwest was introduced in the late 1980s, Midwest Apparel and Design. As the year 2000 arrived, Midwest Calendar went through the largest change by changing its name to Midwest Promotional Group. Midwest Promotional Group is located in Summit, Ill.
