Terrible customer service! The staff is rude and completely unprofessional. They were not helpful. There are plenty of other surf shops in town that I would recommend going to! This is definitely one to stay away from.

We usually go to Surf City for all of our board and gear needs. The staff is knowledgable and friendly there, but, we were driving by Berts on Oleander yesterday and decided to stop in and look at rashguards. While browsing, one of the employees was loudly making fun of a customer who had just called asking about return policies. Every sign in the place makes you feel like a criminal... ex: "Bathrooms are NOT for customers, employees ONLY", "removing tags is a FELONY", "NO refunds", etc. The selection is lacking at best, but my husband did find a pair of shorts he wanted. We went to the counter to check out and my husband asked the kid at the register if they had a military discount... the kid actually laughed as he said no. Not good customer service. We left without buying a thing. We went straight to Hot Wax, found a huge selection of rash guards, friendly staff, clean, VERY well stocked store, and had both military and student discounts. Berts is worthless, go somewhere else.

This is an excellent shop, with probably the best skateboard and clothes selection in Wilmington. The employees always seem to be having a blast and help me with any questions on skate and surf stuff. I've never been to a surf shop where they would sit back and tell you this much about surfboards or help you pick one out without being SUPER pushy. The manager Josh, went out of his way to help me get what I wanted and has even walked me outside to help teach me some skate tricks. Go talk to them and they will totally help you out!!!
