My sister got bit by Cat while volunteering. She went immediately to the doctor. We waited for over an hour and thirty minutes to be seen by a doctor. There were 2 people ahead of us both who were seen. We thought it was our turn to be seen next because it is first come first serve. Another gentleman walks in sees receptionist, and sits down. A nurse comes out and we think "yay! Our turn" but no. They call the gentleman who literally had been waiting 5 minutes to be seen next.
We ask the receptionist why he got called and they said, they are getting ready for you next. That didn't seem fair.
When we finally got inside, the nurse asked what happened. When she found out about it being a cat bit she was more concerned about the cats information and calling animal control. We told her that Pet Smart had it controlled and the adoption agency was taking care of it and that she immediately went to doctor to be seen. The nurse did not ask about my sisters pain, how she felt, she inquired about how many bits there were and kept pressing on who the adoption agency was and asked why she didn't know where the cat was.
I understand they have an obligation to call animal control and report the issue. However having this being their first priority when my sister is the one who paid to be serviced is not the service you would expect. Especially in this case when an animal shelter has the animal confined and it's not a wild animal right off the street.
When the doctor came in we literally saw Dr Channing for 2 minutes who said, it's not a big deal we get these every day. Well just put you on antibiotic. My sister kept asking questions and the Doctor seemed eager to get out. The nurse came back in asking more questions about the woman who's contact we gave her from adoption agency. For being in the care industry customer service and compassion should be #1 focus. The way the care professions at this establishment treated my sister left a bad impression.
