Founded in 1969, the Wilmington Christian Academy is a private school serving students in grades kindergarten through 12. Located in Wilmington, N.C., it teaches reading skills to its elementary student through phonics instruction. The academy uses concepts of teaching and drill work to teach math to its elementary students. Additionally, the academy conducts classes in Bible, arts, music, physical education, library skills and computer applications for students in grades kindergarten through five. The academy's high school offers diploma programs to prepare students for college admission. Wilmington Christian Academy offers various courses in honors, college preparatory and general tracks to students in grades nine through 12. In addition, the academy conducts classes in foreign languages, such as Spanish and French, and in advanced courses, such as calculus and physics for high school students. Wilmington Christian Academy is a member of the American Association of Christian Schools and the North Carolina Christian School Association.
