We had Scott and his crew renovate an 1820's Carriage House into a small one-bedroom cottage nearly 15 years ago and have had zero issues with the building since its completion. After lifting the 25x25 building and pouring a complete foundation they promptly went to work stripping the building down to its original Post & Beam frame. Once some rotted posts were repaired or replaced, the crew set about creating a fantastic cottage; one that was solid, maximized the space efficiently, and would last another 100+ years. To top it off, the building is so well insulated we use less than 400 gal. of fuel to heat the 2-story (1,000 sqft.) space at a constant 68 degrees 24/7 from Oct-Apr (a typical NH heating season). The craftsmanship throughout the cottage is phenomenal. Our favorite detail is the log handrail and spindles used for the staircase. Our recommendation is to plan ahead - true professional builders and craftsmen like Scott are busy people so don't expect them to be sitting idle and able to take on your job at a moments notice.
