I was scammed. I went in for two specific problems: all the PRNDS lights on and hard shifting. Robert the manager test drove the car and said that it's the engine and transmission mounts problem. I paid $1200 to get it done. When I picked up the car, it had the SAME symptoms! He said the malfunctioning lights have nothing to do with the mechanism of the car. Shocked, I went to numerous other mechanics. ALL of them, without even checking the car, said that it's a computer problem when I described those two problems. Then, each used a diagnostic tool and came up with the same trouble code referring to a speed sensor problem. They all said that the mounts absolutely do NOT contribute to the symptoms. One quoted $600 to fix the sensor, and another said it'd cost around $400 to replace the 5 mounts I just got done. I went back to complain and give them a chance to rectify the situation. I asked to speak to the owner and was refused. The team forced me to be inside while they try to "fix" the situation. After a long time, I came back out and asked what's going on. They said it'd cost another $2000-3000 to fix the sensor, on my dime. I said absolutely not and wanted to leave. However, the car did NOT start! The engine failed. I've never had this happen to my VW before. Clearly, they did something after chasing me out of the working area. I was met with disrespect from all, and threatening gesture and tone from a particular member of their team. They've committed numerous violations of the law, and I plan on getting every cent back.
