Established in 1975 as the Evaluation and Services Center, Northwestern Regional Educational Programs (NREP) provides a range of educational and therapeutic services to children with special needs. It offers a variety of services, including transportation, vision and individual counseling, as well as speech, occupational, physical and music therapies. Northwestern Regional Educational Programs also offers services to individuals between the ages of 2 and 21 with severe disabilities. In addition, it provides a range of services for emotionally disturbed and preschool children. The program is operated by Frederick County Public Schools, which maintains various elementary, middle and high schools. Northwestern Regional Educational Programs maintains a presence in Winchester, Va.
