Provided by YP.comWe used these movers with our move the beginning of November 2013. We had several estimates and their price was by far the best. I cannot say anything but positive things and I openly admit I am hard to please. The guys were friendly. They worked hard and knew what they were doing. It was raining and what could have been a mud mess in my old and new houses was prevented because they made sure to carefully lay floor coverings. I have recommended them to others and my realtor now recommends them as well based on my experience.

Provided by YP.comWhere do I begin? The end of May marked 5 years ago that my family and I relocated from York to the Atlanta area. My wife was 7 months pregnant, we had a 4 year old son, two animals and a house full of stuff to move. To make matters worse, this move had to happen in a very short timeframe. I started the process of asking friends for recommendations and calling for quotes. I received three quotes and for the most part the prices were fairly close. In an effort to settle my DIY side, I priced what it would cost for me to do the move myself. Looking to save a few bucks, I decide to rent a truck, car dolly and hire some packers to load up the truck. Moving day came along and everything was going just fine until we realized we ran out of room in the truck with a house that was still half full. We were beyond panic at this point. I called John out of desperation and, to be honest, of the 3 movers he was the one that I would have probably gone with had I decided to hire a mover. He agreed to come over and survey the situation. We walked through the house and, as you would expect, I had to suffer through the embarrassment, but it was nothing compared to the pain and suffering my 7 month pregnant wife was inflicting on me. John handed me a quote and said he could have everything there within a week. I still remember how vulnerable I felt as I prepared to review the quote. I also remember thinking that this was the most vulnerable situation I have ever put myself in. Expecting the worse, I quickly found the "bottom line". I needed to make sure we were on the same page so I asked John to clarify what his priced included.... packing the remaining items, delivering them and unpacking at the other end. He confirmed and I quickly wrote him a check for the deposit. John could have very easily taken advantage of me and my situation that day, but he didn't. Not only did he not take advantage of us, but he proved to me that there are still some very good people out there that place integrity over profit. Aside from the decision to do the move myself, the only regret I have is waiting 5 years to write Delauter's A-1 Moving a review. I was unpacking one of the last boxes remaining from our move today and inside the box was a flyer from Delauter's. It really made my day when I opened it up and saw a picture of John and his daughter Tesla. Sentiment aside, I give John and his grew the highest rating not only because they delivered as promised, but also because they exceeded my expectations. I hope this was a once in a life time situation for me, but John and his crew made me feel like they do this all the time. John said, "Don't worry about this... we will get it to you" and he did. Thanks John.

Provided by YP.comSTAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS AS POSSIBLE. Moved us across town in September 2011; were lazy, slow (getting paid by the hour); damaged many items; were hungover; stole a family heirloom ring ~ Have yet to get any satisfaction through the BBB; and will have to sue now to recoup losses. Claimed they are insured; highly doubt it. DO NOT GO ANYWHERE NEAR THESE SCAM ARTISTS!
Delauter's A-1 moving was contracted to do this move on Sept. 24, 2011. Delauter's arrived on Oct.5 with an insurance adjuster, they were told to come back later because the wife had to run errands.(An appointment was scheduled by the clients for the morning of the 5th). The owners refused to allow the workers to remove a hand rail which resulted in damage to a mattress. The owners were informed to contact the company they purchased the mattress from to see if it was still under warranty. They refused and demanded a full refund. We have sent them certified letters, and numerous phone calls to correct this situation. They refuse to respond. There is no validation to the rest of their allegations. Delauter's takes great pride in providing a quality moving experience.

Provided by YP.comAbsolutely horrible. They were not prepared with equpment to move large items, they scratched up most of my furniture, broke several pieces & took 4 more hours than expected and that was with my husband and brother moving our yard furniture etc cause they were so far behind. The guy is a crook first class. Run to anyone else for your move- can't be any worse.

Provided by YP.comTerrible experience. I was coming from another state and had a very slim window to make the move happen. The owner quoted me a price and shortly before the move (like 48 hrs), when I had no other choice but to go with him, told me it would be several thousand more. They damaged my things and the claim thru their insurance was bogus. I discovered they were not covered for the damages. Once the claim was denied and I asked the owner to pay for the damages, I never heard from him again. I strongly recommend choosing a different company!
This review is not factual. We have never not responded to a claim. Delauter's takes every claim serious and makes sure the customer is satisfied.
