SCAM ALERT: I would like to warn everyone in the San Fernando Valley and Los Angeles area that this place is a scam and it should be reported to the Better Business Bureau due to its unethical bait-and-switch practices.

As you can see from all the other reviews, the owner of this shop not only lacks basic customer service skills but he also deceives his customers by not clearly communicating the charges upfront. The $26.75 coupon that you can easily find online is just a tool for him to lure you in because he will not honor it.

Once the smog service is done, he will proceed to overcharging you—leaving you with no choice but to pay-up. Unfortunately, I fell prey to this unethical practice so I want to do everyone a favor to please stay away from this place as far possible and go somewhere else.

Great experience. Test Only stations are kinda scary but i was put at ease and my car passed smog on the first go around.

I read a lot of reviews on this site about All American Smog Test. It is unfortunate that I only read them after visiting this service center. I feel much of the same pain that many of the people have reported here. This individual - Robert Padilla would have to be one of the worst shop owners I have ever come across. As many of the people here have noticed, he has a very bad attitude problem. He is a rude, obnoxious, unethical and dishonest human being. There is no point in reiterating my experience at his shop since it was the same as what most of the people have indicated here. His quotes are always false. He will find ways to overcharge for his services by adding hidden costs. On top of that, he is a very rude individual who lacks common sense when dealing with people. A shop owner, in my opinion, must have integrity and some basic sense of customer service skills which I found to be lacking with Robert. As one of the reviewer wrote here previously -"I don't know if it's only women he treats like crap, but this guy was a complete a**hole!" - in this area I must say that he does not discriminate. I usually do not post my experiences online but this guy really rubbed me the wrong way. I have already reported him to Better Business Bureau (BBB) and would encourage everyone who has had a bad experience with him to do the same. I sincerely hope that you find this post in time before its too late.

And then he says ,oh ur car fell and didn't pass,come back in 30 days i only charge $20 ,i said What .... every body else do re test for Free,i yell it him and tell him he's a lier and thief and i will take my business else where ,after an hour he call my cell phone and tell me u know what if u come back i will take $5 off ,i say ok u know hat he called me and apologize i will go back its better then paying another $40-$50 with someone else i rather go to him and pass the test cause my gas cap was not tight all the way ,long story short i came back ,my car pass the test ,and them he charge me $15 re test ,he over charge me tax $5 ,and charge for the certificate $8

I said t o him u run ur business the wrong way and u should be out of business

The next day i called my credit card company to get my money back

Imagine my surprise to find other reviews with the same story. This is my surprised face =/…..I walked in with a coupon for about $34.95 and was immediately told that because my inspection was a “STAR” inspection that it was automatically $10 more. I thought it was strange that nothing on the price board said that but I agreed because I was already there and needed to get it done. He comes back to me shortly after and says that my car failed the visual inspection because the “air filter had been tampered with”. I thought this was strange because this factory cold air intake was installed by the factory when I purchased the vehicle. This car has had at least 3 prior smog checks and never was the intake an issue. Once I was told that a retest was $20 (and only could be done between 8am-10am Monday-Friday by apt. only) it all started to make sense. This place will try to get every last penny out of you, BEWARE! Robert said that I would have to go to the dealership to get a sticker then he could pass me. In my long wait to get this sticker I stopped by two more smog shops and both said that if I had brought it to them first, they would have passed it with no problem. After going to 2 dealerships, emailing the factory and jumping through hoops, I go the sticker and went back to Robert. He proceeded to tell me that he remembered me and that he forgot to charge me another $10 from the last time I was there (the time that he failed the visual inspection) and that would be added on the $20 retest (visual inspection of sticker). The hits just keep on coming with this place. So after a week and a half of jumping through hoops my car with the exact same intake that it came in with originally has now passed and it only cost double the original coupon that was brought in. I have two other cars that need to be smogged and will be bringing them elsewhere. So, if life is amazing, everything is good and you’re having a great day then be sure to stop by All American Smog Test for your daily dose of stress and headache, you won’t be disappointed. I would recommend ANY other place BESIDES All American Smog.

What a creep. He hiked the price of the coupon. Called me a coupon clipper in an angry voice. He was the most unpleasant person I have ever encountered. The mistake I made was not leaving at that point. He took my money and then told me the car did not pass. that a vacuum tube was off. I took it to my mechanic and was told that there was no dust on the loose line and it looked like it was pulled off recently. I don't recommend using this place.

I went to this smog station because I had a coupon for a discount on a smog check. I didn't tell him I had a coupon until the end of the test. At the start of the test he gave me a price for the test I said ok lets do it without telling him I had a coupon. After the test I gave him the coupon he said the price was WITH the coupon! But I never told him I had a coupon for a discount on the smog check So basically he lied and didn't honor the coupon. seemed like a nice guy because he offers you bottled water and talks nice to you up until it was time to pay with his coupon!!! Expensive bottle of water!!

I was pathetically greeted by a guy (with a French beard) who ripped me off, did not care to explain anything about how much he was going to charge and basically treated me like piece of sh** whenever I Asked him a question and rolled his eyes. When I asked him why I was paying $48 for smog test only when my coupon was $34.75, he rolled his eyes and insulted me and still did not explain what the cost break down was. Right then and there, I pledged never to see his face again. This was the first time and last time I ever went to this place. Stay away!

I want to say that I appreciate that they got my car in right away with out having me to wait. They were professional all thorough the whole inspection. This is the second time I bring in a car here and I recommend this place because it is very clean as well.

I am happy with this shop you can tell they value their customers and are very professional and run a pretty nice shop. Got my paperwork to the DMV with a quickness.

They had perfect customer service, they do really great and honest work here and they also remember all their regular customers, which is awesome.

They guys here where very friendly and I am more happy to have my car have passed smog!
