The Hadley School for the Blind is one of the world s largest distance educators that serves people with visual impairments. Founded in 1920, it serves more than 10,000 students annually in over 40 U.S. states and nearly 80 countries. The school provides courses in braille reading, English composition and abacus. The Hadley School for the Blind also offers adult continuing and family education and high school programs. It provides classes in math, social studies and science. In addition, the school offers online courses in business writing, glaucoma, gardening and literature. The Hadley School for the Blind is accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement and the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation. It has partnerships with the American Foundation for the Blind, FamilyConnect and Lions Clubs International.
