David Black is both an instructor, training new massage therapists, but also an outstanding clinician himself. He truly knows the body/systems and is excellent about making you that you know exactly what is going on with your body (if you have pain, an injury) and what you can do (outside of massage) to help. My husband had plantar fasciatis and within several sessions, it was completely resolved. Anytime we meet someone who has physical complaints, we give them David's card. I've never had a "conventional" massage from him, but have gotten a lot of "bodywork" from him over the years as I've had injuries and ongoing physical pain issues. A session with him is a really complete body session, focusig on your issue(s), and he has certainly gone well over the hour when needed (more like 90 minutes often) based on my pain level or the complexity of the issue. He uses a lot of diferent modalities depending on your needs and is very highly trained. I appreciate that he continually reads, studies and learns, in order to hone his skills and be able to provide what someone needs. Wtih David, it's not just about "giving a good massage" (although that's a goal) but whether or not you're getting what you need from the session and if problems resolve quickly. I really appreciate that "outcome" orientation. David is the consummate medical clinician and I just cannot recommend him highly enough for anyone who has acute or ongoing issues with the body.
