My wife and I have been craving some great down home soul food since we moved to Winston-Salem from Mississippi. We found it in Nitty Gritty Cafe. The smell of soul food greeted us as we got ready to open the door, so we knew we had found the right place. Our meals did not disappoint. The pork chops, fried chicken, mac and cheese, cabbage, and candied yams were excellent. The cooks really know how to season their food. And the staff was really cordial. That won't be the last time we dine at Nitty Gritty Cafe.
