When I was growing up, biology was always my favorite subject. I knew that I wanted to have a career that would allow me to explore this interest. As it worked out, my high school AP biology teacher was a great inspiration and helped kindle my interest in medicine. \n I approach the care of my patients from a patient-centered viewpoint. What works for one patient may not be the best choice for another. I strive to get to know my patients as individuals - their backgrounds, hobbies and families. It makes my job much more enjoyable and rewarding, and I think it makes the patient experience better, too. \n I have served as the president of the medical staff of Medical Park Hospital and I am currently the medical director at Piedmont Stone Center. I have previously served on the board of directors of Trellis Supportive Care, a community-based hospice center, and I have been a Paul Harris Fellow and board member of the Stratford Rotary Club. I am a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, where I have served on the vestry and as senior warden. \n My wife and I have two daughters. Outside work, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, reading, hiking and volunteering in the community.
