My mother spent 4 days in the facility of 17 patients-she didn't receive any hygiene care (bath) until the day of release upon demands from a family member who was there each day from 8am-7pm. They insisted & documented that they bathe her @ 2am each day-why at that time when they are only responsible for 17 patients. The staff acted as though it was a burden to attend to her needs-thank goodness family stepped up in the facility. Upon her arrival home, we were told a "tuck-in" nurse will be there shortly. We called several times until late that night not knowing what her meds were and when to be taken. No nurse attended to her on the day of release from facility. The lead administration advised she didn't know she was released-when we finally received her paperwork-her name was on it indicating she knew of her release, what time and what her meds were. We entrusted our Mother to their care and expertise and were sadly disappointed-we would not recommend this facility ever. The rep who recommended this facility-shame on you not to followup on the care of patients and their families. Our Mother went through what I would consider dishonorable care which is not what Hospice is worldly know for.
