I have had windows replaced, kitchens and bathrooms redone, flooring- almost every type of home improvement product/service short of a room addition over the last twenty years. The experience with Todd Simon is certainly unique, and not in a good way.



Todd is difficult to reach after payment (my items were custom and paid for in advance), although he does respond once his personal economy is threatened. The response is usually aggressive with a writing style that reminds one of a sixth-grader that watches the People’s Court. He will typically include threats of liens and words like theft. Just run away. But if you feel compelled to take the risk, it may take you months to get what you order and it may or may not meet your design specifications but you better make sure everything is in writing and so clear and precise that it cannot possibly be misunderstood before handing over a single dollar. My contractor and I have never had such a poor experience for such a relatively minor issue. (It was under $2,500- not enough to have an attorney beat him down) Not sure if it’s intentional or he is simply a really poor businessman- but it really doesn’t matter. I’d feel bad for the guy but his lack of accessibility makes me question his integrity.



Perhaps my not too expensive lesson will help others avoid the nuisance that is Windows 4 Less.

During the month of May (2014) we hired this company buying a door and a window. The first incident we had with Todd Simon, Factory Direct Affordable Windows and Doors was that despite all the verbal emphasis, confirmed by email in relation to the size on the item; the seller and owner, (who used to show extremely friendly, reliable christian and owner of the business) wrote in the contract a smaller size to which he gave me in my house. When I asked what we spoke at the house and by email, he told me "...oh that it was had signed in the contract..."

My Mistake # 1 Trusted in him and not read the entire contract. I had to accept



After that, and after months of delayed, with so many excuses so the person who start to answer the phone was steady apologized adding that she was embarrassed for so late in their work. Then she said Mr Todd is no more the owner.



After 4 months of waiting, she tells me that they do not have the truck to bring me my window, nor will be able to honor the contract that they had done with me.



In which I was charged for "engineers services and permits" and they could not do even the installatio. When I claim for the contract, the lady finally tells me ..."Oh if you wanted to sue us for failing to comply the contract, you can do it!, but this company does no longer exist; we had closed operations.



I want to be good with you, here is a new contarctor, call them and they are going to do the job for you. She sent a new "contractor" to install my window and the door they ordered wrong, but of course with new prices because they could not honor the contract.



Oh And ....the door was cheap and with the wrong holes for lock
